PRESS RELEASE

Joyland Ready for Spring Season

Lubbock, Texas, March, 2006

More accurate than any groundhog or prairie dog, a sure sign that winter is over is the annual spring opening of Joyland Amusement Park. Since 1973, Joyland has been locally owned and operated and has entertained generations of West Texans.

The 2006 season opened with the big announcement that Joyland has now acquired one of the most famous coasters from the recently closed Astro World in Houston, Texas.

Greezed Lightnin’ was a must-do at Astro World, and is still regarded among coaster aficionados as one of the finest and most exciting rides ever designed!

Drop from a starting height of one hundred forty feet and travel through a loop at 60 miles an hour, and then go through the loop again…backwards!

The big attraction is that this coaster can be operated with a 42 inch height requirement, making it a coaster that the entire family can enjoy.

Joyland will be holding a contest soon to name the coaster, which is slated to open in 2007. Watch for all the contest details at Joyland’s website: www.joylandpark.com

Joyland’s schedule for the 2006 season is:

March 04, 2006 - May 21, 2006
Open at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays only

May 25, 2006 - Aug 20, 2006
